Paraty offers something for every one. Many trips can be undertaken free of
charge, but there are some special tours you’ll need a local guide for.

Historic Centre
An unmissable experience is wandering through Paraty´s Historic Centre
streets, National Historic Patrimony. Paved with big coble stones by the
slaves in the colonial period, surrounded by colonial houses and hosting 4
outstanding churches. Paraty is the stage of regional and international
festivals, the Historic Centre offers leisure, culture, fun, international
cookery, art studios, shops, the Cultural museum and the famous Marionette
Theater.

Boat Trip
The most beautiful beaches and islands can only be reached by boat, and
that's why boat trips have become one of the region´s more traditional
trips. They stop off at beaches and islands in Paraty's Bay, inviting you
to practice snorkelling, sun bathe
and swimming, with optional lunch on the boat or the islands and beaches.

Trindade
Formally a small fishman´s village surrounded by wonderful beaches that
in colonial times was an anchor for
pirates who attacked Paraty´s ships. Hosting myths and folk tales about
lost treasures and trunks full of gold...
Trindade has wonderful beaches
nearby Cepilho beach is ideal for surfung, Ranchos beach, Fora beach and
Meio beach are near to the village and Caixa d’Aço beach is accessible by
trail or boat. There is a splenid natural rock pool reachable by a trail at
the end of Caixa d’Aço beach or by boat.
Kiosks on the beaches serve lunch, snacks and beverages.

Goldtrail Trip
A trip that portrays the history of the Goldtrail trade route that existed
between Paraty and Minas Gerais. The trip is carried out by car until the
begining of the trail (10 km from Paraty) in the direction of Cunha.
Accompanied by a guide, you'll follow a 2,5 km trail to get to the Coutry
Seat. A 2 km walk until the entrance and 800 meters until the ruins.
There are two ruins expositions, where you can see all the engineering of
the trail that have 10 meters in width in some sections, paved by slaves
from the 18th century, with drains and supporting walls.
Waterfall pools and lunch cooked on wood stoves complete this delicious
trip.

Kayak Trip
Excellent for those who love exploring nature. Historic ruins, marshes,
sugar-can plantation are visited during the trip, and you can also practice
snorkelling.

An ecologic trip through the Atlantic Forest, walking through waterfalls,
excellent for baving and observing Paraty's Bay in natural settings.

Ponta Negra
A fishmen´s village which has a wonderful beach and a beautiful waterfall
that flows into the sea. This place is a truly a sanctuary surrounded by
the Atlantic Forest and the Sea.
Ponta Negra beach has crystal clear water, excellent for swimming.
The trip begins at Oratória Village, in Laranjeiras, following a
trail for 01:30 to Sono beach with stops for resting, then on to Antigos
and Antiguinhos beaches till you get to Ponta Negra.
Optional return by boat until Laranjeiras, where the trail began.

Praia do Sono
Fishmen´s village where you can find one of the region´s most beautiful
beach´s. Praia do Sono has crystal clear water for surfing and swimming and
also has a wonderful waterfall. The trip begins at Oratório Village, in
Laranjeiras, following a trail for 01:30 until the beach. Stops foswimming
on Sono beach, Praia dos Antigos and
Antiguinhos, where the only habitant is the nature.

Trip on Ponta da Juatinga (APA
Cairuçú)
Transport realized by boat (a kind of small ship for 50 people). Take it on
the pier at 8AM, with arrival for 10AM. Travelling by boat and then changig
to a skiff and then a trail until the lighthouse, one of the most high
points in the area. After the lighthouse visit, a delicious swim and a
visit to the village. Lunch with seafood on an island.

Ponta da Juatinga e Sumaca's Trip
(APA Cairuçú)
Sailing from the pier at 8:30AM, arrival at 10:30AM, taking a skiff and
then a trail (01:30) until Sumaca beach a paradise amongst the Atlantic
Forest. Stops for photos, swimming and lunch.
Return to Ponta da Juatinga where you can see locals fishing and can
go swimming.

Praia Grande da Cajaíba Route
Visit the wonderful Cajaíba Beach and its waterfall.
A place with a strong caiçara influenced culture where their habits
and traditions are still intact. Located 13 nautic miles, some 24 km from
Paraty.
Excellent trip for those who love being in contact with nature.

Trip on Refúgio Saco do Mamanguá
Brazil´s only tropical ford. A sea
arm surrounded by montains, with 8 km in extension, Containing Ilha Grande
Bay´s most beautiful marsh, 14 nautic miles, 26 km form Paraty.
Excellent trip to get to know the caiçara culture, photos and
swimming in crystal clear waters.
